Welcome to Charlotte! While Uptown is the heart of the Queen City, Charlotte’s true charm comes alive across its distinct, walkable neighborhoods—the very places where we’ve made some of our favorite memories together. Most are just a quick ride or LYNX Light Rail hop away from Uptown.

Here is a guide to our favorite spots and their unique vibes to help you fall in love with Charlotte during your downtime this weekend:

Uptown (City Center): Sleek, cultured, and central, split into four wards. Wander through the lush lawns of Romare Bearden Park, explore world-class exhibits at the Mint Museum Uptown or the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, or grab a morning coffee and pastry at The Market at 7th Street in the heart of the city.

South End: High-energy, polished, and social. Located just south of Uptown along the LYNX Blue Line, South End revolves around the active Rail Trail. Grab wood-fired bites and Tex-Mex (including Lexie's unironic favorite Ginger Margarita) at Superica or enjoy an open-air beer garden patio with local craft brews at Suffolk Punch Brewing South End, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, or Triple C Brewing.

Dilworth: Charming, historic, and picturesque. Nestled right next to South End, Dilworth features quiet, oak-draped streets and historic homes. Grab scratch-made pastries at Sunflour Baking Company or share charcuterie and wine on the lush garden patio at DTR Dilworth. Nearby Freedom Park is also hosting the annual Festival in the Park this weekend around the lake.

NoDa (North Davidson): Artsy, colorful, and creative. Hop on the light rail northbound to Charlotte’s historic arts district filled with vibrant street murals. Don't miss elevated Southern comfort food and craft cocktails at Haberdish, small-batch craft brews and wood-fired flatbreads at Heist Brewery, or cozy up for bespoke, made-to-order craft cocktails at Idlewild.

Plaza Midwood: Independent, relaxed, and welcoming. Just east of Uptown, Plaza Midwood offers an easygoing, character-filled vibe. Unwind with a cozy pint or craft cocktail at The Workman’s Friend or stroll along Central Avenue to browse vintage shops and unique local eateries.

Traveling with Kids? Charlotte is wonderfully family-friendly. Right in Uptown, kids can explore interactive physics and biology exhibits at Discovery Place Science, step into mind-bending optical rooms at Museum of Illusions - Charlotte, or head to ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center for play areas and storytimes. Just down the road at Metropolitan, kids and adults alike can dive into sensory slime play and custom slime-making at Sloomoo Institute - Charlotte.
